Evaluation of the Impact of Implementing ISO 9001:2015 Total Quality Management Systems in Metalworking Companies

Abstract

This research evaluates the impact of implementing ISO 9001:2015 on the operational efficiency and competitiveness of a company in the metalworking sector. Using a documentary and quantitative approach, key indicators were analyzed before and after the adoption of the quality management system, such as defect rate, cycle time, downtime, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The results show a significant decrease in nonconforming products, reduced rework times, and improved operational productivity. Likewise, an increase in customer satisfaction and greater opportunities to access markets that require certification were observed. It is concluded that the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 not only strengthens process control and standardization, but also contributes to the competitive positioning of metalworking companies, provided that there is management commitment, continuous training, and an organizational culture oriented toward continuous improvement.
