Abstract

Virtual reality has emerged as an innovative tool in the tourism sector by providing immersive experiences that strengthen the emotional connection between visitors and destinations; however, in regions such as Huánuco, its development remains limited, and few studies have examined its impact from a scientific perspective. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a psychometric instrument to measure the digital tourist experience in virtual reality environments. An instrumental, quantitative, and non-experimental design was employed, applying a questionnaire designed for 400 participants and subjected to content validation by experts. The results showed adequate levels of validity and reliability, with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients ranging from 0.858 to 0.960, confirming a three-dimension structure consisting of immersion, user satisfaction, and virtual experience. Overall, the findings indicate that the instrument is valid and reliable for assessing the digital tourist experience in immersive contexts, providing a solid methodological basis for future research in tourism and immersive technologies.
