Information For Librarians
Information for Librarians
RICT Revista de Investigación Científica, Tecnológica e Innovación invites librarians, repository managers, information services, documentation centers, academic database managers, and institutional catalog administrators to include the journal in their lists of electronic publications, bibliographic catalogs, repositories, journal portals, discovery systems, and academic databases.
The journal is published in open access through Open Journal Systems (OJS), an open-source platform widely used for the editorial management, publication, preservation, and dissemination of scientific journals. This infrastructure supports content retrieval, individual article consultation, metadata management, and visibility in academic search engines.

The contents are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which allows copying and distributing the material in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given, it is not used for commercial purposes, and modified versions are not distributed.
Metadata, Interoperability, and Harvesting
The journal uses Open Journal Systems for the editorial management and publication of its contents. OJS enables the generation of structured metadata and supports interoperability with discovery services, harvesters, academic catalogs, institutional repositories, and specialized indexes.
Libraries and repositories are encouraged to use the metadata available on each article page, including title, authorship, affiliation, abstract, keywords, volume, issue, year of publication, license, available identifiers, and bibliographic references.
The journal will progressively strengthen metadata normalization in Spanish and English, as well as compatibility with interoperability protocols and standards such as OAI-PMH, Dublin Core, and other schemas used for scientific information retrieval.

Digital Preservation and Permanent Availability
RICT promotes the digital preservation of its editorial archive through content management in OJS, metadata preservation, periodic backups, and strategies aimed at ensuring the permanent availability of published issues, articles, supplementary files, and bibliographic records.
As part of its editorial strengthening, the journal promotes preservation mechanisms compatible with OJS, such as PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or institutional backup systems, with the purpose of ensuring the integrity, permanence, traceability, and future retrieval of published content.
Self-Archiving and Repositories
The journal allows authors to deposit versions of their works in institutional, thematic, or personal repositories, provided that the integrity of the work is respected, the original publication is cited, and the link to the article published in RICT is included.
Libraries and repositories may guide authors in registering the published or accepted version of their articles, in accordance with the current license and the journal’s editorial policies.
Inclusion in Catalogs and Library Services
University libraries, documentation centers, institutional repositories, and academic information systems are encouraged to include RICT in their lists of electronic journals, digital resource catalogs, thematic guides, consultation databases, discovery services, and research portals.
For accurate bibliographic description, it is suggested that the journal be registered as an open-access electronic serial publication, with peer review, semiannual periodicity, eISSN 2992-7315, and Mexico as the country of publication.
It is also recommended to always link to the journal’s official website to ensure that users consult the current, complete, and preserved version of the contents.
Editorial Platform
RICT uses Open Journal Systems, an open-source scientific publishing system developed by the Public Knowledge Project. This platform enables the management of editorial workflows, peer review, article publication, metadata, digital files, and communication with authors, reviewers, readers, and editorial managers.
The use of OJS facilitates interoperability, academic visibility, editorial standardization, and the transparent administration of scientific publishing processes.
Contact for Libraries and Repositories
Libraries, documentation centers, repositories, and institutions interested in registering, linking, or disseminating RICT contents may consult the journal’s official website and use its public metadata for academic, library, and information retrieval purposes.
