Robotics in education: An experience in the construction of an electromagnetic crane-type robotic arm

To build a crane-type mobile robotic arm capable of moving metal objects autonomously using the principles of electromagnetism to intervene in high-risk situations for human beings. It is necessary that our students have a clear vision of the reality that they must face and solve with new technologies. This robot has been designed to address complex situations, in which human beings could have difficulties or the impossibility to perform them, categorized as an indisputable symbol of the fourth industrial revolution where humans are being replaced by machines in risky situations that compromise the health and welfare of them. Today, the increase in the production of electrical energy with nuclear technology has led countries to adopt safety policies in this area. According to the Nuclear Safety Council, nuclear power plants are becoming safer every day, but the risk of new accidents cannot be completely ruled out. A palpable case, after the Chernobyl tragedy, affected millions of people in a situation of chronic exposure to dangerous levels of radiation, and estimates of the final number of deaths due to long-term health problems amount to 200,000
